Oh MY Heck!!
Abby woke up this morning and went to check on her birds and there weren't any in the cage. I am sick about it, but it looks like someone left a door open. Well, upon closer inspection, there was carnage in the cage and a trail of feathers around the house. We found one pile under my bed and it looks like Murphy the dog has his little feast there. Absolutely TRAGIC!!
I think that we have proven our home unworthy of providing a good home for birds. At least for now. I know that we can love our puppies and kitties. When they see the other side of the veil, perhaps it will then be time for birds. Or maybe we can figure out some way to keep the cage out of quadriped range.

How sad...poor little bird.
alright, no more birds or Blake is calling PETA on you!
I am sorry to hear of another bird tragedy. It's always excitement at your home! Love you guys
Dear Palfreymans,
I am sorry for your loss, I sympathize, kind of.
Two Sundays ago I went downstairs to make breakfast and started to sweep up the floor. All these little gray things on the floor started wiffling up in the air. I thought, hmmm, these look almost like feathers.
Then I fully awakened, and realized that there were bird feathers in EVERY CORNER of my kitchen. I called Dale down to search for the worst. He found a dead sparrow behind the door in our pantry. Someone (Romeo the cat!) caught a bird and brought him inside through the cat door to torture him to death. The night before we had been watching a movie and thought, "do we hear a meowing/screeching sound coming from somewhere?" We checked around and figured we were imagining things. I am very grateful I did not go down for a midnight snack and have a mangled, bloodied half dead bird fly at my head. I would still be having nightmares.
I was mowing the lawn two days later and found another dead bird in the corner of my yard. Now when birds land in my yard I run at them and yell for them to run for their lives. Sometimes they listen.
Anyways, your bird experience seems to have tied in chronologically to mine. What is your explanation for that? I want to know when I should expect more dead fowl in my kitchen.
